Bney Yehuda Tel Aviv FC was founded in 1935, in "Hatikva" neighborhood in south Tel Aviv. As of 2004, the club's home ground is Bloomfield Stadium, after leaving the legendary "Hatikva" stadium. The "Orange-Black" trophy closet contains one League Championship plate (1989/1990), two National Cups (1968, 1981) and two Toto cups (1992, 1997).
With the establishment of the FC from the south of Tel Aviv, the team was called "Tel Hai" which later on was updated to "Bney Zion", and in 1940 after establishing the "Bney Yehuda Yemen youth organization" the club was accepted as a member in the Israeli soccer association for the first time.
The team's first significant milestone was in 1959, in its first game in the first league against Maccabi Petah Tikva FC in front of 3000 viewers. A month later, "Hatikva" legendary stadium hosted its first senior league match ever, with 4000 "Oranges" fans cheering and being a part of that history. In 1968 the team won its first and historical title, the National Cup.
Bney Yehuda FC had known many successes in the 1980's and was considered as one of the leading teams in the Israeli football league. In 1981 the team won the National Cup for the second time, starring Ehud Ben Tovim, the team's best scorer of all times. But the most significant achievement was in 1990 in which the team won its historical League Championship, starring Moshe Sinai, who got in to the club after been relegated to the second league with Hapoel Tel Aviv FC a season earlier. At that same year Sinai was chosen as the best football player of the season.
The 1990's where the end of the club's glory days, the team was caught in relegation battles and became a bottom team, season after season. The 2000's were good for Bney Yehuda FC who managed to perform well and become a legitimate team in the premier league. In the season of 2005/2006 the "Oranges" reached the highest place of previous seasons in the premier league's table, after finishing in 4th place which granted them an entrance ticket to the UEFA cup. At that same season the team also got to the National Cup final for the 5th time in the FC's history, but lost 1:0 to Hapoel Tel Aviv FC at the game's last minutes.
In the season of 2008/09, Bney Yehuda FC got an entrance ticket to the European League, after finishing in the 5th place, at the expense of Beitar Jerusalem FC who got in an economy crisis. For its first time in history, the team managed to survive until the 4th qualifiers round, only to be knocked out by the Dutch PSV, Eindhoven FC in the result of 1:0 in both games
In the 2009/10 season the team qualified for the National Cup final, and lost to Hapoel Tel Aviv FC again, this time 3:1. The team finished the league in fourth place, which led it to the European league. In December 2013, Coach Dror Kashtan decided to resign after a series of failures. Yossi Abukasis was placed back as head coach, but despite of the improved ability of the team, the club was relegated to the second division in the last match day, after 12 years in the premier league.
Bney Yehuda FC opened the 2014/2015 season with Abukasis on the side lines alongside young and talented players, who positioned the team at the top of the table, struggling for rising to the premier league at the end of the season.
